PRATHAM DIIKŚÁ DIVAS ON THE PROPITIOUS MISSION TO FETE SHRÁVAŃII PÚRŃIMÁ

AN ARTICLE ABOUT PRATHAM DIIKŚÁ DIVAS ON THE PROPITIOUS MISSION TO FETE SHRÁVAŃII PÚRŃIMÁ

by Acarya Gatimayananda Avadhuta (CTS, SWEDEN)

Shrávańii Púrńimá -The full-moon day of Shrávań which is celebrated on 09th August, 2025. It rejoices the day of the imparting Pratham Diikśá Divas(First Initiation Day) by Parama Shraddheya Sadguru Shrii Shrii Ánandamúrti in the year 1939;

So, let us together start our re-evaluation for rejuvenation to re-collect the commitment to our “Guru”, when we each one of us—devotees had first Diikśa (Initiation) experience that how we were brought, guided and imparted by Ácárya/ás’, which is known as “Guru Karana” in Tantra, that is without Guru’s desire, it was impossible to get Diikśa.

On the occasion of Shrávańii Púrńimá, Bábá said that how happy this day was, because it heralded a new era, where prejudice and dogma would no longer divide society.

Very few of the numerous criminals executed today are as murderous as Kalikananda (alias Kalicharan) was. Bábá thus in all His books strongly condemns capital punishment. Bábá even said that, He initiated microvita Sádhaná to a judge in South India, because the judge, in twelve cases, gave life imprisonment instead of the death penalty to convicted murderers.

Bábá also points out two cases like this in the past.

Firstly, the teen-age psychotic murderer, Angulimala, was made into a saint by Lord Buddha. Secondly, the robber, Ratnakar, was transformed into the saintly poet, Valmiki, who later in his life composed that great epic, Ramayana.

By Bábá’s grace, Kalicharan was not merely made into a saint/sadhu, but into a divine siddha Avadhuta (perfected/realized soul). This is because, from the very start, Kalicharan surrendered completely to Bábá.

A Mahapurusa must exert all power to save someone.

For Taraka Brahma (i.e., Parama Puruśa, i.e., Bábá), even a fraction of His grace (in Bábá’s own words), makes goats run rockets.

Shrávańii Púrńimá is also the day, when Lord Shiva gave Diikśa to his first disciple.

Bábá’s excerpts from a discourse on 16th November, 1978, Delhi: –

As per Tantra, the word “Diikśá” means, “Diipajiṋánam yato dadyát kuryát pápakśayam tatah; Tasmátdiikśeti sá proktá sarvatantrasya sammatá”.

“Diipajiṋánam” – “Diipajiṋánam” means “the Torch light”, that is, he is to move from the darkness of Animality towards the “Effulgence of Divinity”.

Now the past, in the primordial phase is dark, he requires a Torch, he requires a Guiding light and this is called “Diipajiṋánam”.

And now, what’s the first letter of “Diipajiṋánam”, “Dii”, “Diipajiṋánam”, the first letter is “Dii”. “Yato dadyát kuryát pápakśayam tatah”.

And when he moves from the starting rather from the negative point of Human existence and moves to the final Positivity then, what does happen?

His Pápás also starts waning, this waning of Pápá.

Pápakśayam starts, and what’s the first letter of kśayam, is “Kśa”, Dii+ kśa = Diikśa.

In feminine it becomes Diikśá.

“Kuryát Pápa kśayam tatah, Tasmát Diikśeti sá proktá sarva Tantrasya Sammatá”. Lord Shiva, HE is the Supreme Father of all Tántrikii Scriptures.

HE says that, it is the proper Interpretation of Diikśá, and for Spiritual progress, not only for Spiritual progress but also in, but also for Progress in Psychic stratum, one must undergo this process of Diikśá, there is no other alternative.

In the same discourse from 16th November, 1978, at Delhi this below excerpt from Bábá’s Discourse: –

Now I shall try to say something regarding Diikśá and its significance in Microcosmic Existence. You know for each and every speed, there must be a guiding factor or some goading element. In case of Human Progress also, you know, I have already said that, human existence is an Ideological flow. And in case of human progress, we require a strong Guiding force.

This type of strong Guiding force, connecting the Physico-psychic existence of human beings with the Spiritual life must come from a Subtler Source and here in case of human Diikśa, it comes from the Subtler Source, the Parama Puruśa.

And that’s why in Ánanda Sútram it has been clearly said that, “Brahma eva Gurur Eka Ná Parah” – that is, “Parama Puruśa is the GURU” and all Guidances and Goading elements come from that very Source.

Earlier to have a glimpse about Shrii Prabhát Raiṋjan Sarkár (Bábá), who had studied at Keshavpur Primary School from the year 1927 to 1930 and after completing His primary education, Shrii Prabhát Raiṋjan Sarkár (Bábá) was admitted to the Eastern Indian Railway High School in 1931.

At this time Shrii Laksmii Narayan Sarkár (Bábá’s father) died at the early age of 45 from black fever when Shrii Prabhát Raiṋjan Sarkár (Bábá) was only 14 years old.

Finances became a problem, but in spite of this Shrii Prabhát Raiṋjan Sarkár (Bábá) graduated from high school in 1939 and went on to Calcutta where he enrolled in the science department of Vidyasagar College.

The very same year that Shrii Prabhát Raiṋjan Sarkár came to Calcutta, in August of 1939, as he had blue printed that He had planned well before as per His above discourses what He states: that very Subtler Source, a strong Guiding force is giving assurance, same like Shrii Krśńa had foretold.

The below source is from Wiki:

World War I, also known as the Great War, began in 1914 after the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria. His murder catapulted into a war across Europe that lasted until 1918. During the conflict, Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria and the Ottoman Empire (the Central Powers) fought against Great Britain, France, Russia, Italy, Romania, Canada, Japan and the United States (the Allied Powers). Thanks to new military technologies and the horrors of trench warfare, World War I saw unprecedented levels of carnage and destruction. By the time the war was over and the Allied Powers claimed victory, more than 16 million people—soldiers and civilians alike—were dead.

During this tenacity of world scenario, whether did Taraka Brahma Bábá choose to take advent on Buddha Purnima of May, 1921 to eradicate the terror-stricken world to apply balm for all those war victims and other suffering humanity which includes animate and in-animate beings to re-establish Dharma over Adharma.

Outbreak of World War II (1939), in late August 1939, Hitler and Soviet leader Joseph Stalin signed the German-Soviet Nonaggression Pact, which incited a frenzy of worry in London and Paris. Hitler had long planned an invasion of Poland, a nation to which Great Britain and France had guaranteed military support if it were attacked by Germany.

The pact with Stalin meant that Hitler would not face a war on two fronts once he invaded Poland, and would have Soviet assistance in conquering and dividing the nation itself.

On September 1, 1939, Hitler invaded Poland from the west; two days later, France and Britain declared war on Germany, beginning World War II.

It was right opportune moment Bábá says in some of His discourses, so that day, it was 1939, August 29th and full moon time was 22:09, it was Tuesday (the full moon day of the lunar month Shrávań, that is, mid-July to mid-August) that Shrii Prabhát Raiṋjan Sarkár (Bábá) who was staying with His maternal uncle at Bagbazar, Calcutta (Kalikata). That day of Shrávańii Purnima of 1939 at full moon time 22:09, when Shrii Prabhát Raiṋjan’s true descent as Guru of Mahavishva resonated imparting first Diikśa to Kalicharan, since then it has set open, the path of righteousness to all Bábá’s Dharmika gana(team), who were thriving to search the real purpose and aim of human life was setting the path from this day.

After two days of Shrávańii Púrńimá which was started on 29th August, 1939, when the idea of introducing Diikśa, Shrii Prabhát Raiṋjan Sarkár imparted for establishing MAHÁVISHVA, a new world order; for what He was staging a ground for His gana(team) who were already waiting for His Guidance representing Dharma or Divine forces in helping to fight Adharmika(static) forces began.

On the other part of the world; the World War II was initiated after two days of imparting Diikśá, that on September 1, 1939 Hitler invaded Poland from the west; then two days later, France and Britain declared war on Germany, beginning of World War II.

Shrii Prabhát Raiṋjan composed his Prabhát Samgiita #4954 about the day of Shrávańii Púrńimá – which the purport renders that the staticity of Adharmika forces wanted to take over the regime to wipe away all Dharmika(divinity) forces that’s why, Shrii Prabhát Raiṋjan way of setting His plans to crave out the history as per His thought projection, how to create Mahavishva was finally taking shape; for what purpose Bábá took His advent birth for; so the meaning of the PS #4954 – Oh’ Parama Puruśa, today the divine incident of Shrávańii Púrńimá is coming in my mind. Oh’ Bandhu, the memory of Shrávańii Púrńimá is floating in my mind. The glorious advent of that historical day is still fresh in my mind when the divine play/drama between the staticity and divinity started happening; when Kalicharan was blessed by receiving Diikśá, then he started repeating his Ista mantra & with the incantative power of the mantra his sleeping divinity was aroused.

That time the sweet, fragrant air was saturated with the aroma of the night jasmine; it was permeating the entire atmosphere.

This yuthika’ flower was full of sweetness & love.

A sweet, mild breeze was blowing and various creatures including frogs were singing the chorus with great joy.

The Guru Krpa of Parama Purusa acted upon the crude mind with the divine force of Ista mantra shakti. On that very day of Shrávańii Púrńimá -a new physcio-psychic-spirituo vibrations were created on this earth as the radiant effulgence pierced through the fog & the darkness. The memory of that Shrávańii Púrńimá – is still fresh in my mind. On these divas(day) of Shrávańii Púrńimá — I want only one thing, to Grace you with parabhakti…

The below excerpts were from the Discourse rendered by Shrii Prabhat Rainjan Sarkar on 25th August, 1980 at Calcutta. But the dictation which was deliberated the previous day on 24th August, 1980 at Calcutta was the most unique presentation about life of Shrii Krśńa which Bábá had planned unfolds by dictating “Namámi Krśńa Sundaram”… (Go through the gist which will be attached below for reference #2) and for the first time after setting up Ananda Marga, did Bábá is referring about Himself when Ba’ba’ commenced His role of Guru imparting Diikśa from 1939 on 25th August, 1980, which He had never revealed prior in any of His discourses.

Now, Ba’ba’ started systematically describing His narration by dictating Namámi Krśńa sundaram, starting new chapter about Life of Shrii Krśńa and the next day about Himself that Ba’ba’ started His

ever First imparting Diikśa Divas (Day) to prove that Ba’ba’ was none other who has taken advent to fight like Shrii KRŚŃA.

From the words about Bábá’s Discourse on 25th August, 1980 “Shrávańii Púrnima”…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. The

characteristic of good people is to fight against injustice, to firmly adhere to truth and righteousness, to protect the helpless and fight against all evil persons. Those who are merely simple and are of a meek and goody-goody nature are not good people.

Let us return to our original topic. That evening a certain wicked person came to me. What could he expect from me?

By the way, he encountered. As per accordance with natural human psychology, I asked him, “What do you want? Why do you adopt this evil path?”

In the course of our conversation, he realized that he should change the course of his life. That was the first Diikśá, I ever imparted to anyone. And that same day, Shrávańii Púrnima, has again returned.

A long time has elapsed since then. That was perhaps in 1939. This all took place 41 years ago. You must try to arouse the seed of benevolence that lies hidden in the inner recesses of the human mind. How can this seed be aroused?

Human beings will have to apply all sorts of measures – persuasion, scolding etc.; and at the same time, you will have to continue your efforts so that the dormant seeds of psychic potentialities express themselves. And with their expression, the whole society will be benefited.

Today human beings must be inspired and motivated, and thus discipline is essential. To impose discipline is not bad.

It has been said in the scriptures: Hitarthe shásanam ityarthe anushásanam.

“That discipline which leads to the welfare of all human beings is called anushásanam.” Society requires enforced discipline.

In the scriptures it is also said: Nigrahánugrahe shakto gururityabhidhiyate: “One who is capable of punishing or rewarding one’s followers is called a Guru, a true teacher”.

Only one who can discipline as well as love a person, can be called a Guru.

One who only punishes a person is not a Guru, and one who only loves is also not a Guru. Rather, he/she is an enemy, for excessive love and affection spoils a person. Only one who does both these things is a real Guru.

That is why people should be trained with both love and punishment. Where love fails, punishment helps.

Medicine is not necessarily always sweet; sometimes bitter medicines are necessary as well. Patients often refuse to swallow bitter medicines; they cry in protest.

But the ideal physician will force the patient to swallow the medicine. This is the proper way. Today the entire body of the human society is riddled with numerous ailments of dogmas – as if the whole social body were stricken with leprosy.

Under these circumstances humanity will have to undergo the necessary treatment and then move forward.

Once again, I repeat that no human being should be considered irrevocably wicked.

One should always try to find the good lying latent in all people, because as their good qualities develop, society will respect them more.

We should try to restore those sinful persons to an honourable position in society. Those who will not support your endeavour to establish those people in a respectable position, or those who openly harm society without restraint, will have to be dealt with firmly.

And this will be for the welfare not only of those downtrodden human beings but also of the greater humanity, as well as for the satisfaction of Parama Puruśa   Shrávańii Púrńimá 25 August 1980

Describing about Shrávańii Púrnima

Shrii Prabhát Raiṋjan Sarkár who had enrolled as a first-year student of science in Vidyasagar College, Calcutta in the year 1939.

It was Shrávańii Púrńimá, evening was closing in. Shrii Prabhát Raiṋjan (Bábá’s) regular evening strolls were already a habit from early days in Jamalpur. Small patches of clouds wandered across the sky playing hide and seek with the moon.

The gentle ripples of the Ganges River were dancing with the gentle breeze.

The calm waters of the river shone brilliantly with the reflection of the silvery moon.

Kashi Mitra Ghat (known in detail below #1), a cremation ground, on the bank of the Ganges, was desolate in those days. Rarely did anyone visit the area after sunset.

The residential area was a little way from there. After burning their dead, people left the place as early as possible. Nobody would dare to stay there after nightfall. It was not a safe place to be.

Many robbers and antisocial elements infested that place, the notorious Kalicharan Bandyopadhyay not the least of them. He was a terror.

After dark, the area was completely deserted. Such was the bleak atmosphere at Kashi Mitra Ghat where Shrii Prabhát Raiṋjan Sarkár, a seventeen-year-old boy, was sitting all alone deeply absorbed within Himself. He was wearing a white dhoti and a shirt. His figure stood out from the shadows, shimmering in the soft transparent whiteness of the night.

He attracted the attention of at least one observer. Kalicharan was standing in the shadows watching a young man sitting. Certainly, such a handsome young man must have money and other valuables in his possession. Sharp weapon (knife) in hand, Kalicharan silently advanced towards the youth. He planned to jump on him and snatch whatever he had. Kalicharan took every precaution not to make the slightest noise so that this young man might not get alarmed and flee. He growled, “young man give me whatever you have”? Without perturbed, the young man called him by his nick- name. Kalicharan was stunned. He could not believe his own ears. He was puzzled; his steel nerves trembled. Who could it be?

So distinctly, and so mild the voice, how could He know my nick name, my mother used to call. Shrii Prabhát Raiṋjan Sarkár said, “Now give me everything, you have”. Tell me, whether you are interested in changing your life.

That enchanting voice once again! Could the youth have seen me through when I was creeping stealthily? But He was facing the river, how could He have seen? Did He have eyes in the back of His head? Who is this youth? Kalicharan was very perturbed.

The mysterious but affectionate voice came again: “Kalicharan, don’t waste time. I have been waiting for you.”

That a human voice could be so sweet and affectionate was beyond his experience. His hard, unfeeling heart that could not be swayed by emotion, gave way to unknown, dormant feelings. As if hypnotized, he stepped forward towards the young man, the upraised knife automatically turned downwards. As he came near, the young Shrii Prabhát Raiṋjan Sarkár inviting him to sit by His side. Kalicharan obeyed like a sleep-walker. Shrii Prabhát Raiṋjan Sarkár then started talking to Kalicharan, and told the story of his life. Kalicharan began to realize that this young man was not an ordinary person. His saviour had come to lift him up from dark samskaras, accumulated through hundreds of previous lives. So no more wasting time. The dishonourable robber surrendered himself completely. He took a quick bath in the Ganges and seated himself as directed by his new found Guru.

Kalicharan got tantrika Diikśa (initiation). The dishonoured robber of Kashi Mitra Ghat was no more. His old self was thrown away, along with his old name lost forever.

After Diikśa was over, he was given the name Kalikananda Avadhuta, his eyes were opened to Supreme Truth. He prostrated before the unknown young man. He took a vow to devote himself to the service of humankind as Guru Dakśińá (sacerdotal offering for the Guru).

It was past midnight now. How swiftly time had passed! It was time Shrii Prabhát Raiṋjan Sarkár had to return home. “Now let me go back, Kalikananda!” Bábá said. Kalikananda certainly knew of the dangers of walking alone in the area. How could he allow his Beloved Guru to take the risk! So, he said, he would accompany Bábá to His house. Bábá said, “I don’t think there is any need for you to. If, however, you want, you are welcome to come along.”

They talked along the way and finally arrived at His maternal uncle’s house at Bagbazar. Kalikananda was relieved of his anxiety and began to take leave of Bábá. He did not go far when Bábá had called him back. “Kalikananda, listen. One very important matter has not yet been settled.”

Kalikananda, a bit nervous, came running back. In a very sweet and touching tone, the young Guru said, “I leave no one’s desires unfulfilled. If anybody truly wants anything from me, I don’t disappoint him. This evening you were stealthily approaching me, with the thought of robbing me of what I had, isn’t it so? Why should that desire remain unfulfilled? Here is a coin. Take it. That is all that I have with me.”

With this word, Bábá took a coin from His pocket and gave it to Kalikananda. Even the most heart- rendering entreaties of the many innocent people he had robbed had not been able to arouse his feelings. How strange! These simple words from his Beloved Guru had melted his heart. Kalikananda’s eyes filled with tears. He dropped into sastaunga pranam at His Guru’s feet.

No, what can he possibly accept from whom he now owes an irredeemable debt?

The unsolicited gift of priceless value he had received upon Diikśa (Initiation) has rendered everything else insignificant. He cannot accept this!

“No, Kalikananda, no! It is my sacred obligation, my moral principle. You must accept it.” With these words, Bábá thrust the coin into his hand and closed the door.

Kalikananda Avadhuta, experiencing a torrent of feelings.

So sudden, so unexpected! What a miraculous change in his life in a few hours! The robber Kalicharan was now the sadhaka Kalikananda Avadhuta.

Ba’ba’ liked the entire world “The cemetery is very encouraging for spiritual aspirants, for sadhakas.”

One time in the sixties, Bábá mentioned that, He had given Diikśa to a number of yogis before the Ananda Marga was established. They were sent by Bábá to do Sádhaná for long periods of time. Their duty was to send spiritual vibrations to different parts of the world.

Bábá said that this is the most important work, as without this work, no other work can be done on this earth.

Then Bábá said that Kalikananda Avadhuta was the head of this unknown powerful mystic Mahavishva force which was initiated by Kalikananandaji & others, which Beloved Shrii Prabhát Raiṋjan created (of yogis who do intensive long Sádhaná and send out powerful vibrations everywhere.) This Mahavishva force had task for liberating all those atrocities (carnages, mayhem, slaughters, killings, massacre etc.) done for innocent population during World War 2 all over the world.

At another time in the sixties, Bábá told the Purodha Board that these great souls want to be members of AMPS. The Dadas said, “all right.”

Then Bábá asked who would initiate them. The Dadas said that Bábá could give Diikśa to them. Beloved Bábá said, He wasn’t wished to, but anyhow arranged to get it done.

Dadas said that they could initiate them. However, at this, Bábá became very grave, and asked if anyone had the authority to impart Diikśa to such great souls. Bábá’s vibration was so powerful when thinking/talking of those great souls, that all the Dadas were overwhelmed.

#1 – ABOUT KASHI MITRA GHAT

Kashi Mitra Ghat was built in 1774 by Srii Kashiram Mitra, a resident of Bagh Bazar, making it the oldest crematorium in Calcutta.

There was once a famous yogi called Swami Nagmahashaya who, 100 years before Bábá’s time, every day at nightfall also used to to go to Kashi Mitra Ghat for a walk; “he would sit there alone, wrap in deep thought till late in the night.

At dead of night the dying fires in the pyres with burnt corpses glowed, while the Ganga flowed on nearby mingling her murmuring sound with the rustling music of a solitary peepul tree, humming a melodious but pathetic song of life and death! No language could express it, but it irresistibly touched the human soul”.

Bábá was in Calcutta during the same time that Netaji was under house arrest in the Elgin Road house (1940) and probably had a chance to speak with him more than once.

During this time, it seems that Shrii Prabhát Raiṋjan (Bábá) was also actively engaged in the Independence Movement (see “Strange Experiences” page 20).

#2 – NAMÁMI KRŚŃA SUNDARAM is a collection of twenty-seven Sunday discourses given in Calcutta between 24th August 1980 and until 12th April 1981, together with a brief appendix.

The discourses were given in Hindi/Bengali, and all of them were recorded on tape. Translation into English started before the series of discourses was completed…

Role played by Ananda Marga in bringing Yoga to the world in modern times

Ananda Marga (meaning “The Path of Bliss”), founded by Shrii Shrii Anandamurti (Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar) in 1955 in India, has played a significant global role in bringing Yoga, Tantra, and spiritual practices to the modern world, especially during the second half of the 20th century. Its contribution is both philosophical and practical, with far-reaching cultural, educational, and social service dimensions. Here’s a summary of its key roles:
🌍 1. Global Dissemination of Yoga
• Ananda Marga was among the first organizations to systematically introduce traditional yogic practices—including asanas, pranayama, meditation (dhyana), and mantra chanting—to people around the world.
• Margiis (practitioners) and Acaryas (monks and nuns) have traveled extensively, establishing centers in over 100 countries.
• Yoga in the Ananda Marga tradition was presented not merely as physical exercise, but as a comprehensive spiritual path rooted in ancient Tantra and grounded in ethical living.

🧘‍♂ 2. Integrated Approach to Yoga
• Ananda Marga promotes Asthaunga Yoga (Eight-limbed path), combining:
• Yama–Niyama (ethical discipline),
• Asanas (postures),
• Pranayama (breath control),
• Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana, and Samadhi.
• Unlike many modern yoga schools that focus on fitness or stress relief, Ananda Marga emphasizes self-realization and service to humanity as the ultimate goals of yoga.

📿 3. Introduction of Tantra as Scientific Spirituality
• Shrii Shrii Anandamurti redefined Tantra as the science of inner liberation, free from superstition and ritualism.
• He taught Tantra Yoga as the foundation of all yogic practices and clarified its distinction from misunderstood or misrepresented versions.

👥 4. Training Thousands of Yoga Teachers
• Through its Dadas and Didis (monks and nuns), Ananda Marga has trained thousands of yoga instructors, who conduct classes, seminars, retreats, and spiritual gatherings globally.
• Many of these were conducted in countries where yoga was previously unknown or culturally foreign.

🌱 5. Social and Educational Integration
• Ananda Marga created schools, children’s homes, relief organizations, and rural development programs where yoga and meditation are integrated into daily life and education.
• The movement inspired the Neo-Humanist Education system, where yoga, values education, and universalism are key components.

🎵 6. Cultural Revival through Kiirtan and Art
• Ananda Marga popularized Baba Nam Kevalam kiirtan as a universal mantra and devotional song used for meditation.
• Music, dance (esp. Kaoshikii and Tandava), and art are encouraged as yogic expressions of spiritual flow.

📚 7. Literary and Philosophical Contributions
• Shrii Shrii Anandamurti authored over 250 books, clarifying yoga philosophy, cosmology, psychology, social theory (PROUT), and spiritual science.
• His works offer a holistic understanding of yoga that fuses ancient wisdom with contemporary needs.

🌐 8. Yoga for All: A Mission of Service
• Ananda Marga insists that spirituality is universal, transcending religion, nationality, race, or gender.
• It introduced yoga to marginalized, poor, and rural populations—not just urban elites—making yoga a tool for both personal and collective liberation.

In Conclusion:
Ananda Marga’s contribution to modern yoga is unique in that it:
• Reintroduced yoga as a complete lifestyle, not a commodity.
• Bridged East and West, ancient and modern.
• Kept the spiritual and social dimensions of yoga intact.
• Promoted self-realization through service and service as an expression of spirituality.
It is fair to say that Ananda Marga has been a silent yet powerful force behind the authentic global revival of yogic spirituality in the modern era.

COMMEMORATE 104TH ÁNANDA PÚRŃIMÁ OF BELOVED BÁBA

THE INTRINSIC ATTRACTION OF BÁBÁ’S ADVENT – AFTER 104 YEARS,

“ADVENT OF SHRII PRABHÁT RAIṊJAN SARKÁR / SHRII SHRII ÁNANDAMÚRTI ON ÁNANDA PÚRŃIMÁ / VAESHÁKHII PÚRŃIMÁ in the year 1921, THE FULL-MOON DAY OF THE MONTH OF VAESHÁKHA”.

The advent of Bábá, Shrii Shrii Ánandamúrti, is Ávirbháva epoch event that is called “Annals” that naturally draws individuals towards the Supreme Progenitor. This attraction is not merely a product of external influences but an innate inclination that arises from the very fabric of eternal relationship towards that Cosmological Nucleus, PURUŚOTTAMA.

As the Supreme Father, Bábá’s presence resonates deeply within every being, awakening a sense of familiarity and longing.

A Birthright Connection for those born into Ananda Margii families & Whole Timers, this connection is especially non-subjective. From a young age, they are imbued with the teachings and vibrations of Bábá’s divine presence. As a result, their attraction to the Bábá is not just a philosophical concept but a lived experience, woven into the very essence of their being.

The Role of Grace however, realizing Bábá’s true nature and the significance of His advent requires His grace for non-margiis. It is through His Supreme benevolence that individuals can transcend the limitations of their mundane existence and glimpse the all manifestative divine reality that underlies all creation. As Bábá’s grace illuminates their longing or quenching hearts, they come to understand the profound implications of His advent and the role it plays in their lives.

Here is the Bábá’s own discourse reveals the fact, please go through and continue.

“Where there is no cause, there cannot be any effect”, and it was he(Maharśi Kańáda) who established the fact. Everything in this Universe of ours is causal.

  • Now, here we are. Say a few years ago, none of you knew that Bábá is on this Earth. None of you knew that Bábá loves you. But Bábá was there, and Bábá loved you, though you were not acquainted with Bábá.

Is it not the fact? And I think, now some of you feel that Bábá loves you, at least a little.

Don’t I love you a wee bit? (Bábá makes a pinch measure with His fingers).

And I also realize that you love Me very much. (Bábá makes a grand measure with his arms spread wide). You do not know, but it may or may not be a fact.

Rather, it may be a fact that I knew you. Nothing is non-causal in the Universe.

You came in close contact with Me, I came in close contact with you. This is also not non-causal. Certainly there is some cause behind this actual happening.

The cause may or may not be known to you. There are so many people in this world.

Why did you, boys and girls, come in close contact with Me, but not others? Certainly there is some cause.

And perhaps this cause or seed germinated in long past, say, 5000 or 10,000 years ago.

The seed was there and it germinated, and finally, when its sprout was out, you came in contact with Me.

What is sprout?

The white portion of the tree that first comes out of the seed.

So, when nothing is non-causal, your coming in close contact with Me is also not non-causal.

There is some cause, you do not know.

It may be that in holy past you were also in close contact with Me. It may or may not be on this Earth, on this planet.

It may be on some other planet that you were known to Me. It may be that on that planet, we sat like this and decided that, “Let us go to that small planet known as Earth, and there we may do some work.”

And, just to fulfil the pledge of ours, we have come here. So nothing is non-causal.

A Journey of Self-Discovery as individuals after Tantrika Diiksa (in Ananda Marga) embark on this journey of self-discovery, they begin to recognize the intricate web of relationships that binds them to the Supreme Guru. They realize that their existence is not a coincidence but a deliberate manifestation of Bábá’s divine will. This understanding fosters a deep sense of gratitude, devotion, and surrender, drawing them closer to Bábá.

In Bábá’s words, So, the initiation of a revolutionary change is not the work of a sadvipra, but the work of a Mahásadvipra. Mahásadvipra is the philosophical term; in the scriptures it is called “Táraka Brahma”.

Bábá’s “Táraka Brahma” advent is a powerful causal representative of His for spiritual growth and self-realization. It awakens individuals to their inherent

connection with the Mahásambhúti and inspires them to embark on a journey of discovery and devotion. As they surrender to His grace, they come to understand the profound significance of His advent and the role it plays in their lives, ultimately leading them to a deeper understanding of themselves and their place in the universe.

If born here in this planet, and not to know about Bábá Mahásambhúti and not to follow even after knowing, as if he/she is born in a non-margii family, as their reactive momenta is not in co-ordination with Bábá’s waves of following Dharma, for certain period and later due to Bábá’s grace, if arranges and brings in His contact, that means their life as found a true friend and embrace true friends path for life time ever then becomes their Adarsha and IśtFa.

In the clear language of Bábá below:

“Eka eva suhrd dharma nidhane api anuyati yah”

Dharma is the only suhrd, that remains with you even after your nidhan(death) even after your death.

When a man dies what does happen, his friends carry him up to the cremation ground; and after burning your body when it is rendered to ashes; what do they do; they spray some water on the ashes of your funeral pyre; and go back to their house; till they are within the cordon of the cremation ground; they remember you and after that they forget you; But this dharma – dharma remains with you and what you did to this world for dharma is never forgotten by dharma;

In the worldly life, you are to strengthen your dharma, you are to strengthen the hands of your dharma; and in the other world dharma strengthens your position. Eka eva suhrd dharma nidhane api anuyati yah – Only Suhrd, the true friend is Dharma and your Dharma Guru is your real friend for this life and even after life. So, you have to follow only one Dharma Guru – Bábá.

The Enduring Legacy of Bábá’s Dharma is Ananda Marga, that Bábá’s benevolence has bestowed upon us the invaluable gift of His Ananda Marga, a comprehensive philosophy that guides us in our pursuit of self-realization and service to humanity.

Through His Organization, we have been afforded the opportunity to engage in Seva, selfless service, which enables us to contribute to the holistic development of individuals and societies worldwide.

A Lasting Impact of Bábá’s MAHÁKAOLA guidance and unconditional love have profoundly impacted each of us as His devotees. MAHÁKAOLA teachings have instilled in us a sense of purpose and responsibility, inspiring us to strive for the betterment of humanity. The memories of His divine presence in our lives will forever be inscribed in our hearts, serving as a constant reminder of our duty to perpetuate His Ananda Marga mission.

An Unshakable Commitment as we reflect on the profound influence of Bábá’s divine Marga, we are reminded of our unbendable commitment to His cause. We aspire to continue rendering Seva, driven by the conviction that our efforts will contribute to the all-round development of humanity.

May Bábá’s Supreme Love and guidance remain an integral part of our lives, illuminating our path as we strive to fulfil His visual modality for a more

compassionate and enlightened world.

An Eternal Bond in the depths of our hearts, we acknowledge the eternal bond that unites us with Bábá. His divine presence has transcended the boundaries of time and space, and we are confident that His Personified love and guidance will continue to inspire us throughout our lives and beyond.

May this sacred bond remain unbroken, as we endeavour to honour Bábá’s ÁNANDA PÚRŃIMÁ legacy and further His Ananda Marga mission throughout the Universe to create the blue print of Mahávishva.

Shimla DMS – Baba’s Pratikriti and Guru Puja – By Rev. PP Dada

Dharma Maha Sammelan (DMS) in Shimla, Rev Purodhá Pramukha Ácárya Vishvadevánanda Avadhúta, deliberated the below topic in evening session on 28th April 2025 below and I (Acarya Gatimayánanda Avadhúta, CTS Sweden) have made an attempt to transcript from the video recording to put forth his ideas in English rendering below for the sake of English readers:a

Today’s discourse is “Bábá’s Pratikriti* and Guru Puja”.

Pratima what we call as “Murti”. Chitra means a painting and Pratikriti(Creative Appearance).

In any nadir Entity’s Pratikriti, that nadir point of Entity’s Pratima and Chitra as well Pratikriti’s whether all have a same value, if not is there any difference?

Pratima, Murti and Chitra all these are crude form of imagination.  Considering the Pratima, what’s its meaning is?

Prati+ma-Prati means sankasha(appearance) – and ma means to measure. If any maker of “murti—idol”, one who makes an “idol”, there the entity’s identity form makes an overall view and in it, what exist an imagination figure’s beauty, that imagination beauty, he transpire to form it as an “Idol”.

With the same effect, a painter too with the help of beautiful imagination, he too fills with his idea to create a painting.

But as a matter of fact the painting is more subtle than the form of idol. Even then both the idol and painting is a crude thing.

When we trace the original matter or thing, it is either metal, clay or any thing.

If it is a sculptor, will find a suitable type of stone and gives a form.

What all these things are, it is nothing but the form of crude objects.

It is also the fact that an Idol maker as well painter and sculptor’s object of mind’s imagination, that is in his/her subtle mind what imagination exist, its vibration of form is vibrated.

Even though, as it is made up of crude object, what ever the vibration that it emits, all those vibration what it emanates, that is crude, you must know.

When the consciousness of that own person, what has been created with that crude identifiable object, if he/she ideates, what happens is, that ideation of that crude objects vibration, reflects on his mental mirror an imaginative figure.

And with due course slowly and slowly, one will be vibrated with those crude forms slowly and gradually converts one day and transforms into that form in his/her crude mind of citta, that is mental stuff.

In his/her mind takes/becomes the same form as that object and converted with same form.

That’s why the Idol worship as well the painter’s painting sketch both will definitely becomes either crude or subtle, it is nothing but only crude worship, why because it is made from the crude objects.

Thus both the painting and Idol cannot lead to get us permanent liberation(Moksa). Why because the mind, gets vibrated with the same feeling of that crude object and slowly gets converted into that of crude object itself. That’s why how does such a thing can entrust to liberate you permanently. It is never possible.

Let us come to know about Pratikriti. What does Pratikriti mean?

Pratikriti is not anything like that of an art form or any human’s form of imagination. It is what, What actually mean by Pratikriti (creation of appearance)?

Prati means Samkasha(appearance) and Kriti means “creation/formation”.

The nadir of its own Creation. As and how it is was formed same like that of creating imaginative form to any particular object.

But what is in this Pratikriti you know?

It is same as you appear to be like.

Pratikriti is with that of a camera, that has photographed the nadir identification of the true being.

What happens here is, when with the help of camera when taken a photograph, what does camera do?

The body’s vibration it holds and transform that being’s image. That is it produces the image of that being.

In this Pratikriti, from the camera when photographed that image of Pratikriti, from its nadir form of body’s vibration, mental’s vibration, and spirit’s vibration all are merged.

Suppose considering Bábá’s Pratikriti.

Baba’s picture of VARÁBHAYA MUDRÁ and JÁNUSPARSHA MUDRÁ, what Pratikriti we have is the body’s physical, psychic and psycho-spiritual vibration, all these 3 are merged together.

That’s why those subtle emanations emanated; as vibratory waves are super subtle and supra subtle vibration.

Our Beloved Shrii Shrii Ánandamúrti’s Mahásambhúti form is itself Pratikriti.

What Shrii Shrii Ánandamúrti’s form, that Mahásambhúti, who He is, this Creator’s Cosmological Nucleus, Purusottama’s has linked Himself with it. For that reason, from that Pratikriti’s ever emanating vibration flow is always being generated.

From that Brahmic emanation those vibratory waves like that in VARÁBHAYA MUDRÁ as well JÁNUSPARSHA MUDRÁ; from that Pratikriti’s Brahmic vibrational flow that is emanating there is Brahmic vibratory forms or waves of blessing and fearlessness permeates and from the eyes His fatherly/motherly gesture of love, grace and compassionate boundlessly filled.

Rarely for few dear devotees, Bábá’s VARÁBHAYA MUDRÁ’s photo after witnessed, then and there they’ll have a true form coming lively appearing before him/her.

Such incident’s thus happens/occurs as per one’s own Saḿskáras, and for him/her they’ll have self realization.

That’s why the Pratima, or Painting for praying or doing contemplation it cannot be compared to Pratikriti.

Thus spiritual aspirant, after deep Ideation on Baba’s Pratikriti becomes pious and holy.

So, Baba what expresses in VARÁBHAYA MUDRÁ and JÁNUSPARSHA MUDRÁ, from era after era ever it will be graceful bestowing of spiritual vibration forever.

I am going to refer one such incident, in Bihar in very beginning days of inception, in Bihar there was an grhii acarya who was highly in commissioned dignified post; and other was DSP, who was also a grhii acarya.

This grhii acarya who was DSP, he always used to carry a VARÁBHAYA MUDRÁ photograph of Baba which was framed in tact, he always kept in His suitcase.

Whenever he used to travel, he carried along with him and wherever he was accommodated, he always used during meditation, so he carried with him.

So this DSP one fine day had come to his officers’ bungalow and used to come often. But one fine day, an incident occurred and while staying overnight in that bungalow, and after performing his meditation together with his officer, ate dinner and they both went to sleep and was taking rest in their respective places.

After sleeping for a while, this DSP couldn’t get sleep due to some mysterious force was throwing him from his bed; and shaking him out and whenever he wished to sleep; such a thing happened to him.

Then he went to officers bed and narrated him about this incident; both thought what is the reason for such an incident and as we don’t believe in such of ghost or evil spirit, even then why does it is happening.

Let us go see and all of a sudden in Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) mind a thought flashed that he had not closed that VARÁBHAYA MUDRÁ pratikriti of Bábá.

Yes I have done such a blunder, always I used to pack it safe and kept in its respective place and then before that he did meditation and apologized Bábá and he did went to sleep and slept well and nothing happened henceforth.

If anyone does have an iota of Devotion towards that Pratikriti; then those vibratory waves emanated or generated surely makes the environment divinely charged.

During prior Bábá’s physical presence, only this VARÁBHAYA MUDRÁ and JÁNUSPARSHA MUDRÁ was and will be always emanating blessings from this Pratikriti if one utilizes properly and Ideates on its picture.

Considering the fact during Shiva’s time, if any man who has seen and done meditation on Shiva it is also the same Pratikriti of Shiva, that he may Ideate upon; but after a long long time, if another man does meditation on the form of Shiva’s Idol, it doesn’t become Pratikriti because one has not seen the true form of Shiva and that idol will not emanate the same vibration because it is only a crude thing.

The same can be thought about for Lord Krśńa who was Táraka Brahma. During Krśńa time, there was not developed science. So, Bábá for such developed sadhakas, demonstrated to witness the Shiva and Lord Krśńa form to him/her.

Bábá’s Pratikriti which is available with us, in it emits His own vibrational waves, but few some very mean developed Sa’dhaka so called, during Guru Puja, may think Bábá’s Pratikriti lively looking/seeing it, may refer it to be Murti/Idol worship, this may also be Idol worship and while we perform Hari Pari Mandala during Akhanda Kiirtan, centering Bábá’s Pratikriti to be in the centre, whether it maybe any type of Pratikriti, whatever photo in each of them their is vibrational flow in it; specially VARÁBHAYA MUDRÁ and JÁNUSPARSHA MUDRÁ pratikriti, there is a special power of emanation, so such type of baseless sadhaka may think like that it is Idol worship.

But while performing the Guru Puja in front of Pratikriti, what does that Pratikriti resemble, it is Pratikriti’s life force emanation; that is Bábá’s primordial status, which resonates Taraka Brahma’s true representation vibe.

So during Guru Puja, what does happen is, there are two couplets the first 3 stanza and last Pranama Mantra part, what can be called VARŃÁRGHYADÁNA, while performing this VARŃÁRGHYADÁNA, when we with our own mental color, that is our mental color is being offered unto Bábá’s Pratikriti.

Such adorable Guru accepts that mental color offered and whatever Saḿskáras offered will enshrine on Himself or His own Self who has that knowledge of acceptance, such is the understandable Pratikriti, an all encompassing Infinite strength of Guru or Macropropensive plexus of Guru’s veracity, such is Pratikriti, so when we have done our mental offering(VARŃÁRGHYADÁNA), will be whole heartedly accepts it and bestow the blessings, in this process weans off the Saḿskáras upon Himself and Grace’s its grandeur.

This is the glamour of Pratikriti.

This pratima(image) and painting sketch/drawing of the painter and imaginary formation of an idol of an Idol maker, this cannot be compared with whatsoever idea with regards to the Pratikriti.

We all of us does Bábá’s Ideation, and thus Bábá’s Pratikriti is engoldened completely with His affection and His infinite Love, with His infinite Grace and compassionate filled without limit and it will be an unbroken flow era after era for infinite time for all my dear devotees and always bestowing grace in their spiritual journey and thus devotees will be flooded with devotion.

I understand that you all have understood it and as time not permits that I was not able to substantiate clear enough, as this topic is very deepen knowledge and ample time to simplify it and I have given only glitter glimpse of it only, I think you have little bit of an idea about it and when you will be in field based on this facts arrange discussion session during pracar as such even though the idol form of worship is crudest way of prayer, so in Tantra it is the lowest of lowest form of worship, thus in Tantra it has been accepted as a lowest part of practice, why because the Idol maker form of making the Idol has fantasy of beautification and its vibration is still resonating, and for such a person who doesn’t get Brahmic way of Initiation for such a person it is not entertained but it is lowest of lowest and always door is opened for them to embrace the higher sadhana, thus in the field make them understand that it is made of cruder and whatever crude vibrations is emanated it is also curved with such waves and thus in the philosophical stance, with which our mind is forced to imbibe our cruder part of mind(Citta) and thus our Citta will be transformed to crude.

So it is forbidden and thus for us Pratikriti is all in all and if in any one’s mind, they must not carry such a notion; that it is Pratikriti, it is also only an Idol, and what’s its value is, so the Pratikriti has its original/primordial creative force, which never undergoes change.

Now I would try to conclude here.

The Divine Purpose of Human Life: Teachings of Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji

Coming of Lord Shri Shri Anandmurti ji has multidimensional effects on individual existence as well as on entire humanity of the planet Earth on all three levels I.e. physical, psychic and spiritual. Today we will just discuss His valuable guidance for individual human beings. His love for us is endless, divine and all prevailing  so He is BABA for us… most beloved entity of the Universe. Most of the time BABA warned us about our precious human life. He said ” you have come for limited period on earth. Use every moment of your life to reach your Divine Goal of Brahma hood. Don’t rush after physical joy as your human built up is not design for animal way of living rather meant for taste for divinity through spiritual practice called SADHANA. Remember your life is in dynamic mode. You have only two options. Either move to Divine Goal or go to downfall of animal hood or even more below to crude matter level. I think nobody will ever like to be animal again after reaching human level through thousands of years of clashes of evolution from matter to human being.” BABA continued “fix a divine goal of Brahma hood in front of your eyes and divert all your thoughts, words and actions towards your divine goal.” BABA advised not to look behind to your past may it be good or bad but look to your future goal of Brahma hood and act firmly and wisely in present time. BABA explained root cause of failures in Human life ” do you know you have big trails of experience of animal life on the path of evolution before you become human beings and path of divinity is extremely new to you. So all past animal life experiences pull you back and force you to leave hard path of divine unification with Supreme Consciousness. ”

In General Darshan at Delhi BABA explained His one of greatest mystery. BABA said “who is Lord Shiva and who is Lord Krishna is now understood by you because today I have explained but this Anandmurti ji will be understood when another Anandmurti ji will come and explained in future. The philosophy which I am going to give you it is for future developed generations and will be understood by them. Then afterwards BABA started His discourse on subjective philosophy. Today let us understand more about our existence in the words of PARAM PURUSH BABA ” human existence is threefold i.e., physical, psychic and spiritual. Out of three dimensions psychic and spiritual parts are of permanent nature while physical part “human body ” is of temporary nature. Human body supports human mind for limited period and then die out so human mind has to again wait for new human body to exhaust his “Sanskaras ” reactive momenta of past actions. ” BABA said ” human body is beautiful, self contained biological machine gifted by Param Purush to you to reach your goal of Brahma hood. ” BABA continued ” it is only human body which is capable of performing Spiritual Practice called ” Sadhana.” Because human body has straight spine and has developed all ” Chakras ” in spinel chord. No other animals have straight spine formation like human beings which is very very essential requirement in spiritual practice. BABA warned “Never curve down while doing Sadhana and for those who are sick or aged can do Sadhana in sleeping posture keeping spine straight. “BABA explained biology of human body “human body is made of living protozoic cells in blood and metazoic animals like heart, kidney, liver, lungs, glands, brain etc. All are interconnected with each other through network of nerves . And finally human mind control all animals of human body with the network of nerves. BABA explained the failures of human existence “look now all living animals of body form a collective resultant psychic force and compelling human mind to act according to their way of liking. Now if human mind is less powerful than resultant force of body than it will act like animals because all body parts are animals primarily. For example suppose you are out to catch railway train and on the way suddenly you smell tea and you are forced to take tea by your body and if mind is less powerful then you will stop to take tea and miss railway train. You must control all the instincts of human body. ” Astang Yog Sadhana with strict follow up of 16 points keep human body in very much control as well in proper condition to perform Brahma Sadhana. So it is very very important to keep body healthy and active to carry out wishes of human mind.

Body’s nature changes with the the type of food taken. “Tamsik” food ,” Rajsik” food and “Satvik” food changes nature of body accordingly into Tamsik,Rajsik and Satvik categories. For spiritual practice Tamsik food must be avoided. ” BABA further explained ” every cell in your body has limited life span and replaced by new cell approximately in 30 to 40 days. Every cell has its own unit mind. If you eat Tamsik food then cell made up of Tamsik foods will attract very very low categories of unit mind from the atmosphere “. Baba stopped and pointed to Sadhaka and said “I have just seen a mind of crow has just took birth in the cell on face of this boy. He had taken Tamsik food. ” BABA continued “Tamsik food attracts very very low categories of minds of animals in your body and finally all collective will force of these animal mind will force you to be animal like. So to control your body you must be very careful about your food habits. You must take ” quality ” food not “quantity” food eat less to eat more. It means that when you take less food it is well digested. ” Further BABA explained key to human body healthy. ” in most of cases human body repair itself automatically but still case of sickness you must follow five Doctors. They are  Pure air, pure water, pure food, pure light and Samyag Vyayam (Yoga Asana) these are five real doctors to protect and cure human body from all diseases.

Baba explained the very purpose of the human body, “the human body is divine gift given by Param Purush BABA. It is primary requirement for attainment of Brahma hood. Human body is for YOGA  (Spiritual Practice) not for BHOGA ( Physical joy). So use your human body like “Tractor”. Use it in maximum ways in all environments till you reach your goal of Brahma hood. ” BABA continued “don’t waste your time to gain more muscle power as there is no much value of mechanical power of body in today’s age of science and technology. The big elephants are working like slaves for intellectual human beings. We have all mechanical equipment to do physical rough and tough job rather try to enrich yourself with psychic power and spiritual enlightenment. BABA warned “one must not indulge in animal ways of life or mad after material world. After certain limits human body rejects such human mind indulge in animal ways and finally death occurs. It is very very painful tragedy of degenerated human mind. Because after death degenerated mind becomes animal or even becomes trees or crude matter” BABA continued “So always keep your body engaged in good activities like Sadhana or Service to humanity. ” BABA advised “while doing Sadhana or Spiritual Practice think that Yam Raj the “God of death ” has cluched you by hair and no time is left. So do Sadhana with awareness of limited human life and reach your Divine Goal of Brahma hood as early as possible. “BABA asked one Sadhaka to stand up and open up chest. We surprised to see his right side of chest looked pressed. BABA said “this boy was Saint in previous life. Every thing was good about him but he has big craving for food and finally he damaged his liver. So in this life he is born with damaged liver too.” Many times BABA advised to solve psychic problems by first treating human body by treating with Yoga Asana for corresponding glands responsible for disorders. BABA said “if you are suffering from fear complex then do “Mayurasan”, for concentration of mind do “Baddha Padmasana ” . So on and on Finally make Yoga Asana part of your routine life not only keep yourself healthy but evolve mentally too.

Meditation to facilitate emergence of more developed species in human frame

Meditation, transformative process, Written By Madan Prasad Dada

Meditation is concentrated thinking involving specific brain cells. It regulates the flow of vital energy. Makes the flow goalward effecting desired change in body and mind. However, many factors influence the flow of the energy generated by the body. Besides, we know little about self, environment and society and how to use the sophisticated brain and mind optimally resulting in underutilization, many a time misutilization in crippling self by hammering mind with negative thoughts. This way we are not only harming self rather society also. People of negative and self-centered predisposition influence adversely the value system. Hence to reverse the declining trend, meditation is a must. As all the problems, physical, mental, social and environmental emanate from mind. We make our presence felt through thought. Meditation hoans mind.

Meditation is a powerful change medium this has been proven by an impressive number of studies. Mental states can markedly alter physiological functions. For example, stressful situations result in a hypermetabolic state, with increased oxygen consumption, heart rate, and blood pressure. Contrastingly, meditation causes decrease in body metabolism manifesting as decreased breathing pattern, decreased heart rate and blood pressure. There is also a marked decrease in level of oxygen consumption. The metabolic charges due to meditation arises from change in flow of vital energy(pran) and not due to forced reduction of breathing .That’s how mantra regulated pranayama is more effective.

Ten confirmed health and wellness benefits of meditation: the science of mindfulness, with 17 cited research studies - Buddha Weekly: Buddhist Practices, Mindfulness, Meditation

Circulation. Study shows change in blood flow pattern of mediators. The redistribution of blood flow by meditation; although hypometabolic overall .it appears likely that there is a concomitant increase in the metabolism of certain tissues. Which is evident from the growth observed in the brain of meditators in certain areas, learning and memory and frontal parts and decrease in the fear center, Amygdala, emotional part of the brain. The desired change takes place in the targeted areas, not randomly.

Meditation causes widespread and lasting changes down to genetic levels. Changes cellular structure and it’s solidarity by making up the shortfall in telomeric length by silencing enimical genes and activating friendly one’s. The mind also undergoes change. Mental boundaries loosen. Limitations wane making one feel more connected, comfortable in difficult situations. All these changes come about almost effortlessly when one is established in Dhayan(meditation). Meditation will help in our evolutionary giant leap forward resulting in the emergence of a more evolved species in the human frame.

Meditation evokes relaxation response. This attracted the attention of the people. Now, its role in shaping our lives is being realized. Yoga is pretty old concept, better say tested one, yet not fully understood. The reason it’s introversive journey. The subjective counterpart of mind plays a significant role. Some are elusive. Which we can understand and experience. We can feel and live the truth. The moment this happens unbelievable change will take place. Those who talked about Yoga were the most evolved persons of their time. People are in different stages of evolution. Even identical twins raised in the same environment have been found to behave differently. We are different in different situations. This has been found in the lives of great people. It appears we have been designed to touch the peak of evolution. In the process of evolution cosmic pull from its hub is not letting us degenerate beyond certain limits. It is said everybody is on road to salvation. Which in turn means there are phases in the process of evolution physical, mental and spiritual. A day is sure to come when more people will be spiritual. Those who are lagging behind will not be left to their fate. This is subjective approach, hence inclusive, mind playing crucial role.

In spirituality individuality is merged into collectivity.

One more aspect, gut-brain-mind connection which has lately attracted the attention of scientific community clearly shows that our existence has a purpose, a goal. We eat to be able to think and thus channelings the mental energy in actualizing dreams and desires through the process of subjectivisation. In this process the mental picture of both thought and thinker are made. Which impacts both body, mind and view of self. The subjective layers determine our limitations and capabilities, our identity. We grow with mind through thinking about expansive thoughts, subjectivated Pabula, by subjectivisation.
Evolution in entirety can be understood by considering human body as sophisticated machine intended to transform matter into consciousness. As nothing lies beyond that. We humans eat food, take water, breathe air and expose to sun. The most evolved persons for different ages were those whose mind comprised the supreme Subjectivity, the layer which watches all things all the time. Through meditation, such changes come about.

Supreme consciousness is the first cause. Matter, supposed to be the first cause of life on earth is in fact metamorphosed consciousness. The crudified, condensed consciousness. Yet it is not one homogeneous mass. There is yet another force more gigantic than black hole which attracts the subtler, the more. The tendency in living beings to shed limitations, say evolve is because of this pull from invisible source. In living kingdom, the subtler play , the significant role. Hence clashes, cohesion and great attraction causes evolution. The extent and speed of evolution on earth or elsewhere is because of this force in favorable conditions. Meditation facilitates the pull enhancing the capacity to evolve.

Evolution is an unending process. Supreme consciousness is the goal. Hence the pathway has to be so long.

THE DADHICHI DIVAS: A COMMENDATION TO UNWAVERING COURAGE FACED BY BABA’S CHILDREN

March 5th marks a painful day in the Ananda Marga calendar, as we honor the memories of five courageous Sadvipras who, like Dadhichi, willingly sacrificed their lives to vanquish a great evil on 5th March 1967 at Ananda Nagar. This day is remembered with profound unhappiness and joyousness, as we recall the heroic deeds of the Dadhichi Five and all those who have given their lives for the Ideology.

The Dadhichi Divas/Day was born out of a tragical event that unfolded on March 5th, 1967. Five of Shrii Shrii Anandamurti jii’s most devoted WT children– Ac’Abhedananda Avt, Bharat Kumar, Prabhas Kumar, Abodh Kumar, and Ac’Sachidananda Avt. – demonstrated unshakable courage in the face of adversity. Despite being vastly outnumbered by the local goons or villagers especially instigated by communists mentality, as our cadres of Baba fought valiantly against their attackers, ultimately succumbing to their injuries and were butchered.

Their sacrifice will never be forgotten, and their bravery has earned our Dadhicii brothers permanent place in the annals of Ananda Marga as well in Global chronological history. To commemorate their sacrifice, we observe the Dadhichi Day every year with half a day fasting, collective meditation, and a collective meal in the evening.

In the continuation, it is hereby mentioned the Calcutta Tragedy: A Heinous Act of Violence on April 30th, 1982, a gruesome incident shook the city of Calcutta. A group of thugs, incited by malicious propaganda of communists again, surrounded a group of Ananda Marga sannyasi monks and sannyasi nuns attending an educational convention. The attackers blinded them with acid, mutilated them with knives, beat them with iron rods, and burnt them alive.

The brutality of the attack sent shock-waves throughout the city, with widespread outrage and condemnation. The local police, despite being in close proximity, failed to arrive on the scene in a timely manner. The perpetrators, though identified, were never apprehended or brought to justice even to this day.

The victims were none other than Baba’s children to face this heinous crime were our Dadhicii’s – 16 sannyasi monks and – 1 sannyasi nun.

Their memories will live on, and their sacrifice will continue to inspire us to uphold the principles of justice, compassion, and righteousness.

“As humanity stands at the threshold of a crucial moment, two distinct paths lie before us. On one side, a radiant new era beckons, promising unprecedented glory and transformation. On the other, the remnants of a bygone era linger, worn and weary.

Baba’s message conveys for all time, a sense of urgency and hope, urging individuals to seize the opportunity to create a brighter future. It emphasizes the importance of spiritual growth, renewal, and collective effort in shaping a glorious new era. The tone is inspirational, motivational, and optimistic, encouraging all our Baba’s children to embrace change and work towards a better tomorrow.

Truly at His wee bit Grace,
Acarya Gatimayananda Avadhuta

Observance of Niilakanta Divas on 12 February, 2025 !

Baba’s profound message resonates deeply within us: “All beings in this universe are kith and kin… none is despicable… all are equally respectable… and entitled to equal love and affection.” As we navigate the complexities of our world, we must recognize that every problem is a collective concern, requiring a unified response.

In the face of adversity, we draw inspiration from Baba’s words: “Degradation is impossible for one who has accepted the Supreme Being as one’s life’s ideal.” As we move forward, let us remain steadfast in our commitment to Neo-Humanism and its transformative power.

As we approach Niilakanta Divas on February 12th, we recall the poignant incident in which our beloved Baba was poisoned in Bankipur Central Jail in 1973. This day has been consecrated as Niilakanta Divas, symbolizing Baba’s selfless role in absorbing the poison, much like Lord Shiva’s legendary act of saving the universe by drinking the poison and retaining it in His throat, which turned blue.

In commemoration of this event, we honor Baba’s unwavering spirit and His unshakeable commitment to protecting humanity. As we observe Niilakanta Divas, let us reaffirm our devotion to Baba’s ideals and our pledge to uphold the principles of Neo-Humanism.

February 12th every years holds profound significance for Ananda Margiis worldwide. On this day in 1973, our Most Lovesome Guru, Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji, was treacherously poisoned by a prison doctor in Patna’s Bankipur Jail. This heinous act was an attempt to silence His voice and thwart His mission.

Throughout history, visionary leaders and spiritual icons have faced similar persecution, often meeting with tragic ends. However, Ananda Margiis choose to observe this day not as a somber occasion, but as a celebration of triumph and resilience.

We commemorate February 12th as Niilakantha Divas, an auspicious day that honors Lord Anandamurti ji’s unwavering spirit and unshakeable commitment to establishing and protecting dharma.

This observance serves as a poignant reminder of the enduring power of spirituality, compassion, and wisdom. As we reflect on the significance of Niilakantha Divas, we reaffirm our dedication to the principles of Ananda Marga and our commitment to spreading love, peace, and harmony throughout the world.

Throughout Ananda Marga history, Our Beloved Baba, who have dared to challenge injustice and seek clarification on doubts have often faced severe repercussions.

Baba since His advent have sought truth and protested against wrongdoings so He along with His missionary followers were frequently targeted by evil forces that sought to maintain their power and control. One of the most nefarious tactics employed by these forces was the administration of poison to Beloved Baba, a subtle yet deadly means of silencing dissenting voices.

In addition to physical harm, these individuals were also subjected to slander and character assassination. Our Ananda Marga mission’s reputations were tarnished, and their credibility was undermined through malicious rumors and false accusations. The perpetrators of these injustices often misused their authority, exploiting their positions of power to mercilessly deal blow after blow to those staunch margiis and Dadas/Didis, who dared to challenge them.

The assaults were not limited to physical harm; they also took the form of emotional and psychological trauma. The victims were often left feeling isolated, vulnerable, and powerless. Despite these overwhelming challenges, many individual missionary continued to courageously speak truth to power, even in the face of extreme adversity.

Our margiis/Dadas/Didis bravery and resilience serve as a testament to the human spirit’s capacity for endurance and resistance. However, it is also essential to acknowledge the immense suffering and hardship that entire Ananda Marga endured. Their struggles should not be forgotten or overlooked, and their sacrifices should be honored and remembered.

In remembering these courageous cadres of Ananda Marga Society, we are reminded of the importance of standing up against injustice and seeking truth, even in the face of overwhelming opposition. Our cadres of Ananda Marga sets examples inspire us to cultivate the courage and resilience needed to challenge evil forces and promote justice, compassion, and equality. By learning from their experiences, we can work towards creating a more just and equitable society, where individuals can seek truth and challenge injustice without fear of retribution.

The flame of a lamp has the profound ability to illuminate countless other lamps, spreading its warmth and light far and wide. Similarly, a great personality Baba had the power to awaken numerous sleeping hearts, inspiring and motivating them to reach their full potential. This phenomenon is not limited to the physical realm; it also has a profound impact on the spiritual and metaphysical dimensions.

In the realm of spirituality, the eternal glow of the boundless élan vital of Cosmic Consciousness has been illuminating the life-lamp of universal humanism since time immemorial. This cosmic energy is the divine spark that resides within every being, guiding and directing them towards their higher purpose. As this energy awakens, it sets off a chain reaction, inspiring and uplifting countless individuals and communities.

The concept of élan vital, coined by French philosopher Henri Bergson, refers to the vital force or energy that drives all living beings to evolve and grow. In the context of Cosmic Consciousness, this energy is amplified and intensified, becoming a boundless and eternal force that permeates every aspect of existence. As this energy illuminates the life-lamp of universal humanism, it fosters a deep sense of connection and unity among all beings in and around the Globe.

Universal humanism is a philosophy that emphasizes the inherent value and dignity of every human being, regardless of their background, culture, or creed. As the eternal glow of Cosmic Consciousness illuminates this philosophy, it inspires our entire Ananda Marga designatories to work towards the betterment of humanity as a whole. This, in turn, creates a ripple effect, spreading love, compassion, and understanding throughout the world.

In conclusion, the eternal glow of the boundless élan vital of Cosmic Consciousness has been illuminating the life-lamp of universal humanism since time immemorial. As this vital energy continues to inspire and uplift humanity, it reminds us of our deep connection to one another and to the universe as a whole. By embracing this energy and allowing it to guide us, we can work towards creating a brighter, more compassionate, and more harmonious world.

February 12, 1973, marked a pivotal moment not only in Ananda Marga but also bears testimonial history, as a heinous crime which was perpetrated against Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji. This assassination attempt, orchestrated from the highest echelons of power in Delhi, was a blatant display of malice and corruption.

The aftermath of this event is a testament to the enduring spirit of Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji. Despite suffering from the debilitating effects of poisoning, He embarked on a remarkable 5-year, 4-month, and 2-day fast, demanding a judicial inquest into the circumstances surrounding the attempt on His life.

The refusal of the authorities to grant this inquest, despite Baba’s unwavering commitment to justice, raises disturbing questions about the involvement of those in power. It is evident that they feared an impartial investigation would expose their complicity in this nefarious crime.

Many devotees believe that the long-term effects of the poisoning significantly compromised Baba’s health. However, His remarkable resilience and determination enabled Him to recover and continue His mission.

Upon His release, Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji resumed His tireless work, perhaps this was part of His reason for undertaking such a fast to set example in History that Supreme Father came out victorious and broke His fast and travelled throughout the world after His release and started the next day on 3rd August with a general darshan “LIVE WITHOUT FEAR” and henceforth rendering marathon dictating numerous books and treatises on various subjects, including the life histories of Lord Krsna and Lord Shiva, Neo-Humanism, 5018 Prabhata Samgiita series, regarding all multifarious branches of Philosophical, Social, Spiritual and Intuitional knowledge, and touch the Mysterious emanation of Microvita, Gurukul, and the among others.

This remarkable productivity, in the face of adversity, serves as a testament to Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji’s unwavering commitment to His mission and His unshakeable spirit. Parama Pita Baba Ki Jai.

Subhash Chandra Bose: An Icon of Youth andRevolutionary Spirit

On this momentous occasion of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary, we remember a leader whose life exemplified courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment to the cause of India’s independence. Subhash Chandra Bose, born on January 23, 1897, in Cuttack, Odisha, continues to be an eternal source of inspiration for youth across generations. His revolutionary ideals and fiery determination make him a beacon for those striving for justice and freedom.

Subhash Chandra Bose’s extraordinary contribution to India’s freedom movement earned him a special place in the hearts of millions. Among his admirers was none other than Shri Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar, the propounder of PROUT (Progressive Utilization Theory). Sarkar, in his book The Problems of the Day, paid a heartfelt tribute to Bose, dedicating it with the words:

To the great hero Shrii Subhash Chandra Bose whom I did love and whom I do love even now.

(Problems of the Day, January 26, 1958, Trimohan, Bhagalpur)

Such a profound dedication speaks volumes about the enduring legacy of Bose as a leader who transcended his era to become an icon of youthful vigor and revolutionary zeal. The world today is looking for such Sadvipras – spiritual revolutionaries with moral integrity and courage – to save humanity from its challenges and lead it towards a brighter future.

Early Life: Foundations of a Visionary

Subhash Chandra Bose was born to Janakinath Bose, a successful lawyer, and Prabhavati Devi, a pious and disciplined homemaker. From a young age, Subhash displayed exceptional academic brilliance and a deep sense of patriotism. Influenced by the teachings of Swami Vivekananda and the ideals of selfless service, he cultivated a burning desire to liberate India from colonial rule.

After graduating with distinction in Philosophy from Presidency College, Kolkata, Bose moved to England to prepare for the prestigious Indian Civil Service (ICS). While he successfully cleared the examination in 1920, he chose to resign from the ICS, declaring that serving a foreign government was against his principles. This bold decision marked the beginning of his relentless pursuit of India’s freedom.

Bose’s Role as a Revolutionary Youth Icon

Subhash Chandra Bose’s fiery spirit and radical approach appealed immensely to the youth of India. His bold slogans, such as “Give me blood, and I will give you freedom,” galvanized young Indians to rise against British rule. Unlike the moderate leaders of the Indian National Congress, Bose advocated for complete independence and did not shy away from exploring militant methods to achieve this goal.

Bose’s election as the President of the Indian National Congress in 1938 and 1939 symbolized the growing influence of youth in the freedom movement. However, his progressive views often clashed with the moderate leadership, leading him to resign and establish the Forward Bloc, aimed at mobilizing the masses for uncompromising independence.

The INA: Mobilizing Youth for Armed Struggle

Bose’s belief in the power of youth found its most profound expression in the formation of the Indian National Army (INA). With the rallying cry of “Chalo Dilli” (March to Delhi), Bose inspired thousands of young Indians, including women, to join the INA and fight for their motherland. The creation of the Rani Jhansi Regiment, an all-female combat unit, was a testament to his progressive vision of empowering youth across genders.

Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar’s Tribute to Subhash Chandra Bose

In his book The Problems of the Day, written on January 26, 1958, at Trimohan, Bhagalpur, Sarkar expressed his deep admiration for Subhash Chandra Bose, dedicating the book with a heartfelt tribute:

“To the great hero Shrii Subhash Chandra Bose whom I did love and whom I do love even now.”

Sarkar’s dedication highlights the shared commitment of these two great thinkers to the ideals of justice, freedom, and the empowerment of humanity. Sarkar’s PROUT philosophy aligns with Bose’s vision of a self-reliant and equitable society, emphasizing the importance of youth in nation-building. The world is in dire need of leaders like Bose and Sadvipras, who can inspire, uplift, and guide society towards harmony and progress.

Legacy and Lessons for Today’s Youth

Subhash Chandra Bose’s life offers invaluable lessons for today’s youth:

  1. Courage in Conviction: Bose’s resignation from the ICS exemplifies the courage to stand by one’s principles.
  2. Visionary Leadership: His formation of the INA and the Provisional Government of Free India showcase his ability to inspire and organize people.
  3. Commitment to Social Justice: Bose’s emphasis on women’s empowerment and youth leadership underscores his commitment to an inclusive society.
  4. Global Perspective: By seeking international alliances, Bose demonstrated the importance of thinking beyond borders for a greater cause.

Conclusion: A Flame That Continues to Burn Bright

Subhash Chandra Bose remains an eternal flame of inspiration for young minds across the globe. His life’s work teaches us the value of resilience, innovation, and selfless service. As we celebrate his birth anniversary, let us pledge to uphold the ideals he stood for—a just, equitable, and progressive society.

In the words of Netaji himself:

“Forget not that the grossest crime is to compromise with injustice and wrong. Remember the eternal law: You must give, if you want to get.”

Let us honor his legacy by dedicating ourselves to the service of humanity and the creation of a better world for all. Today, as Shri Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar’s tribute reminds us, the love and reverence for Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose remain undiminished, lighting the path for generations to come. The world is looking for such Sadvipras to save the world and guide it toward a brighter future.
